A mental health evaluation was inconclusive for a Camas man accused of driving his pickup into a father and son, killing both, in east Vancouver.

James H. Paulson, 73 , will undergo further psychiatric testing before he’s formally arraigned in Clark County Superior Court.

Paulson is facing two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of reckless driving and one count of driving under the influence.

He’s accused of driving his pickup into 28-year-old Jose Enrique Quevedo and 6-year-old Joshua Quevedo as they walked home from a school bus stop Sept. 17.

Judge Christine Hayes concurred with the defense and Deputy Prosecutor Kelly Ryan in requesting further evaluation of Paulson.

Paulson is scheduled to be back in court Oct. 21 for a review hearing.
