GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — In between the stretches and body movement, girl talk fills the room as East Grand Rapids graduate Jessica Marchant works with one of her therapists at Mary Free Bed.

“I feel like I've made good friends with a lot of the therapists and nurses. It’s more of like a hangout session and therapy,” said Marchant.

She says it’s just as important as all of the work she is doing to get her life back to a new normal.

Back in august, while living in Hawaii, Marchant thought she had a stiff neck that wasn’t getting better. So she went to the emergency room to get some help.

“I was not expecting much out of that, though, which is going to go home feeling silly, but it was, it all happened so fast,” said Marchant.

But doctors quickly realized it was more than that she suffered
