Firefighters responded to a call at Cedarwoods Apartments at 818 Ohio St. after home repair workers started a fire with soldering, Bangor Fire Chief Geoff Low said.

One family’s cat stuck in an apartment was bundled up and carried out of the building by firefighters, Low said.

“That’s one positive out of it. So a family is able to keep its pet,” he said.
