ANN ARBOR, Mich. — It took a few years, and a surprise phone call from the transfer portal, but Michigan found its next dominant running back in Justice Haynes.

As the story goes, Haynes, the third option at Alabama the last couple of years, entered the portal in December and made one of his first phone calls to Wolverines running backs coach Tony Alford.
