AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has launched a new hotline designed to support students who are experiencing homelessness throughout the state.

The toll-free hotline through the Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth (TEHCY) Support will offer real-time direct support with resources from trained experts.

Families and educators can call 1-855-85TEHCY (1-855-858-3429) , Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Officials said the hotline is geared towards parents needing help enrolling their child in school or if educators are needing a better understanding on students experiencing homelessness.
