WALLINGFORD — Vermont State Police say they may have found the body of a domestic assault suspect who fled into the woods with a gun almost three weeks ago.

Police said Tuesday they were unable to positively identify the remains as those of 62-year-old Rodney Davis. The body was sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Burlington for an autopsy, which police said would attempt to confirm the identity as well as the cause and manner of death.
