The San Antonio Spurs are listing Victor Wembanyama at 7-foot-5 on their official roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, or 1½ inches taller than his listed height during his rookie season.

San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama was already tall. But, if the latest official measurements released by the team are to be trusted, he actually got taller.

Wembanyama came into the NBA two seasons ago listed at 7-foot-3½ and 209 pounds.

In San Antonio’s official roster released ahead of the 2025-26 season, however, the Spurs listed Wembanyama at 7-foot-5 and 235 pounds. All of which means — if those are indeed accurate measurements — Wembanyama has grown 1½ inches since coming into the league and has added 26 pounds of bulk to his frame.

That also makes Wembanyama the tallest active player in the NBA, surpassing Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey, who didn’t have the good fortune of a growing spurt and remains listed at 7-foot-4 — his same listed height from his rookie season.

It also inches Wembanyama up the list of tallest players to ever play in the NBA.

He’s now tied for the sixth-tallest NBA player in history, behind Manute Bol and Gheorghe Mureșan (both 7-foot-7), and Yao Ming, Shawn Bradley and Tacko Fall (7-foot-6).

Wembanyama is one of the NBA’s premier young players and one who can reshape the way contemporary big men are perceived across the league. Given his size and length, he’s already one of the favorites to win his first Defensive Player of the Year award, but he’s also blessed with exceptional athleticism, fluidity, ball-handling and shooting.

Still only 21, he's just as comfortable working in the post as he is lacing deep shots well beyond the 3-point line.

Wembanyama was the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year and earned his first All-Star nomination last season, averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and an NBA-best 3.8 blocks per game before he was shut down in February with deep vein thrombosis.

Now fully cleared to return to action, Wembanyama and the Spurs are looking for him to improve further in his third season.
