BUFFALO, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced that multiple counties in Western New York and the Southern Tier are now under a drought watch.
While parts of Western New York saw rain earlier this week, the governor has extended drought warnings to counties across New York, including most of Western New York.
The counties under drought warning in the region now includes Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Monroe, Niagara, and Orleans. Allegany and Cattaraugus counties had been under drought warning since Sept. 24.
