TYLER, Texas — The Tyler City Council on Wednesday reviewed a plan on how to improve the traffic flow on South Broadway Ave.

The South Tyler Mobility Study was commissioned in 2023, and during the council meeting Wednesday, HDR Engineering presented their recommendations to help alleviate traffic in an area from Grande Blvd. south to Loop 49 and from Old Jacksonville Highway east to Paluxy Drive.

The study was broken down into short term and midterm projects mostly focused on intersection improvements and access management that can be done in the next three to 10 years.

The long-term projects include proposed roadways on the Tyler Master Street Plan that can be built to help improve connectivity.
