FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Police have uncovered a credit card skimming operation in Fairfax County.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD), the operation targeted ATMs and other payment devices inside stores around the Richmond Highway corridor.

In September, FCPD partnered with the U.S. Secret Service in an operation targeting credit card skimming activity along that corridor. The operation was due to two skimming devices being found earlier that month.

On Sept. 11, seven skimming devices were found. Six of which were "advanced models" that had mini camera systems placed at the ATMs. These devices would capture the card data and PIN entries from victims.

The skimming devices were found at these locations: • Dollar Tree 6711 Richmond Hwy • 7-Eleven 8226
