Among the unusual things about St. Louis City SC’s 3-1 win over Austin on Saturday was this: It was the first time all season that City SC had won again when Eduard Lowen wasn’t in the lineup.

City SC came into the game with an 0-10-4 record when Lowen didn't appear in the game. City SC won just one game between March 16 and July 12, and that game, on May 31 against San Jose, was one of just three games Lowen played in that span.
