Matthew Treber is taking over as Madera County’s new Chief Administrative Officer after two decades with the county.
The Madera County Board of Supervisor unanimously appointed Treber to be the CAO on Tuesday.
Driving the news: Treber moves to the position after spending the last five years as the Chief of Development Services. • In that job, Treber oversaw the Economic Development, Public Works and Water and Natural Resources Departments. • He has also been deeply involved in the strategic planning and growth in the county’s most recent projects, including the Rio Mesa area, which developed over 19,000 acres, constructed 26,000 new homes and built over eight million square feet of commercial space. • Former CAO Jay Varney retired from the position last month.
