TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida A&M University is continuing its push for a place at the table as Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and Florida State Health discuss merging .

FAMU’s Board of Trustees just moved up its meeting about the topic from next week to this Friday.

The first public meeting about the merger happened just last week.

Earlier, FAMU vowed to be part of the merger discussion.

Recently, local faith leaders suggested FAMU get two seats on the new board if the planned merger goes through.

That topic is the only item on the agenda for the BOT special meeting on Friday. It’s scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on Zoom.

Those who would like to participate in public comment need to sign up by 5 p.m. on Thursday.
