Richland County leaders gathered Wednesday to celebrate a new way for residents to pay their taxes without making the trip downtown.
The county cut the ribbon on its first full-service Treasurer’s Office kiosk, located at the Hopkins Magistrate’s Office.
Treasurer Kendra Dove says the kiosk allows residents to pay their county tax bills using a credit or debit card and receive an instant receipt — something the county’s online system does not offer.
“This is our way of bridging the gap. Many of our residents in this community drive upward of 45 minutes to an hour to get to our location at 2020 Hampton Street. This cuts that by 30 minutes for many,” Dove said.
