NEW ORLEANS — After nearly five months on the run, Derrick Groves — the last of 10 men who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center —

Groves was arrested Wednesday in southwest Atlanta after a brief standoff. U.S. Marshals and Atlanta SWAT found him hiding in a crawl space inside a home on Honeysuckle Drive.

Neighbors say they had noticed suspicious activity at the house for weeks. One woman told reporters Groves would stare at her through the blinds whenever she checked her mail.

A tip eventually led law enforcement to the area. Although officials say the arrest ended peacefully, witnesses reported seeing the home’s garage door, front door, and several windows blown out during the raid.
