LOS ANGELES — KISS bassist Gene Simmons is recovering at home after crashing his SUV into a parked vehicle in Southern California on Tuesday afternoon when he lost consciousness behind the wheel, according to multiple .
The crash happened along the Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Simmons told authorities he was driving his Lincoln Navigator when he became unconscious and veered across several lanes of traffic before colliding with the parked car.
The 76-year-old rock icon was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later released to recover at home.
Simmons' wife, Shannon Tweed, told news the crash was related to his doctors recently changing his medications and him not drinking enough water.
