UNION, N.J. (PIX11) -- Many students in college endure battles their friends know nothing about. To hear advice from someone who's also in school can make all the difference.

"When I was going through my problems, I wish I had focused on myself more," said Stevens Institute of Technology student Aidan Robinson.

In his freshman year, Robinson witnessed his brother endure his 13th brain surgery as part of a battle with neurofibromatosis -- a genetic disorder of the nervous system. "That, coupled with my grades slipping and just social drama and problems, all felt like it was really piling on. It really got to me," said Robinson. "I didn't really realize that it got to me."
