COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) - South Carolina health officials are monitoring a growing measles outbreak that has now confirmed at least 10 cases since July, but they still don’t know where it started.

Three of the cases are linked to schools, however the South Carolina Department of Public Health (SCDPH) said those locations may not be the source, just places where symptoms showed up.

The SCDPH announced Wednesday, "After allowing a 48-hour period of parental notifications to be sent and received, the S.C. Department of Public Health can confirm that two schools in Spartanburg County – Global Academy of South Carolina and Fairforest Elementary – have confirmed measles cases identified with the current outbreak, and are taking appropriate measures to exclude potentially exposed students."
