ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The two candidates running to be Atlanta’s next City Council President squared off in a debate on Wednesday, less than a week before the start of early voting.
The debates, held by the Atlanta Press Club, were hosted at the WABE studio in Atlanta.
Marci Collier Overstreet, a current councilmember representing southwest Atlanta, and Rohit Malhotra, a non-profit leader with a background in public policy, argued over some of Atlanta’s most contentious issues and their overall vision for City Hall.
“I think this is a fundamental election for our city,” Malhotra told reporters afterwards.
Both used the portion of the debate where they could ask each other questions to make piercing allegations.
