BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Leaders gathered in Bentonville for a Housing Summit hosted by Groundwork on Oct. 8 to discuss practical solutions for the area's growing housing needs and to prepare for inevitable expansion.
Recent housing data presented in Arvest's Skyline report shows the average price of a home in Bentonville has risen by 70% in the last five years. Projections by the Northwest Arkansas Council predict that the population in the Northwest Arkansas region will double to one million people by 2050.
The Housing Summit brought together elected officials, planners, business leaders, and residents with the goal of exploring solutions. The overarching purpose of the meeting was encapsulated by the organizer.
