NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A weak front is moving into the area today through Thursday, helping to push in some slightly cooler and drier air as we head toward the end of the week. Most of the region will stay dry, though a stray shower can’t be ruled out near the coast. Afternoon highs will remain warm on Thursday, generally in the upper 80s to near 90.
By Thursday night, that front will have settled south of the area, allowing noticeably less humid air to move in. It looks like we will see one more little area of humidity drift through on Friday morning before we really settle in to the drier air by Saturday. As we head into the weekend, an upper ridge will build directly over Louisiana, keeping things quiet and dry for several days.
