JOHNSON COUNTY, Texas — Two young boys were found dead Tuesday night along the Brazos River in North Texas.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says a call came in around 6:10 p.m. from along the Brazos River at Hamm Creek Park near the town of Rio Vista, reporting two children missing who were playing along the water.

Crews responded and found the two boys around 8:30 p.m., and pronounced them dead on the scene, officials said. The boys were 4 and 7 years old, the sheriff's office said in a press release.

The Johnson County Medical Examiner later identified the victims as 4-year-old Banx McAmis and 7-year-old Bowyn Miller.
