WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - West Baton Rouge Parish residents will decide whether to approve a drainage tax renewal next month—one that already failed once.
Crews clearing ditches along Treuil Road in Port Allen represent the kind of drainage work that could become limited if West Baton Rouge Parish voters reject a proposed drainage renewal tax for the second time.
The renewal, which already failed once in March, would provide the parish with $6 million annually for drainage studies and projects. Parish President Jason Manola said the tax is crucial for maintaining the parish’s extensive drainage infrastructure.
