Residents were evacuated from their homes last night as a police cordon has been put in place and a bomb squad called in after reports of 'suspicious items' inside a flat.
Kent Police evacuated residents on four streets in Margate after the force was called to an address in Rosedale Road with concerns raised about items contained inside a flat. The force confirmed that a cordon has been put in place and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team from the Ministry of Defence has been called to the scene to inspect the items.
Homes in Glencoe Road, Wharfedale Road and Malham Drive were evacuated alongside those in Rosedale Road. One person was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody. 23:00 Tim Hanlon
