BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham Police Department said the shooting death of a man Monday night, Oct. 6, was ruled justified by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office.
Police said 20-year-old William Jones man was shot and killed at an apartment building in the 100 block of Golden Crest Circle.
Investigators presented their findings to the district attorney’s office and after reviewing the information, they ruled the actions of the shooter justifiable.
Police were called to the scene at Golden Crest Circle around 10:45 p.m. South Precinct officers responded to the call where they heard multiple shots fired in the area.
According to police, they patrolled the area and found Jones lying unresponsive in a parking lot next to a vehicle.
