BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A former Alabama football player is hanging up his cleats for a different kind of uniform — and maybe a little stage makeup, too.

Brandon Tyler Moore stars in the new Netflix series Boots . The eight-episode drama follows a group of young recruits in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1990s.

WBRC sat down with Moore to learn about his journey from sacking quarterbacks at Bryant-Denny Stadium to starring on the big screen.

“Who’s to say you can’t?” said Moore. “Why not you? Why can’t it be you?”

Those are words Moore says have guided him from the football field to film.

“My whole life I knew I was gonna play football for ten years in the NFL — that didn’t happen. But I knew after that I wanted to be an actor, so here we are,” said Moore.
