A Perth doctor narrowly escaped jail for a second time on Wednesday after he was released on a good behaviour bond despite being handed a six-month prison term.
Phillip Murrell Meyerkort, 48, pleaded guilty in the same court last month to fraud charges after he was found to have forged a letter from his GP to help his daughter to get a passport.
The highly trained doctor was, at the time, already on a suspended prison sentence for similar offending.
Meyerkort is a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, which sees him provide high-level medical expertise to prevent and manage work-related illnesses and injuries.
Last year, he pleaded guilty in the District Court to forging a record and attempting to defraud, which included creating a fake email
