IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Forward Meike Ingles had high hopes for her sixth and final season with the Iowa soccer team. However, in their season opener against Arkansas, Ingles suffered a season-ending injury. Her career has been filled with challenges far beyond what most college athletes deal with, but she couldn’t imagine not being a Hawkeye.

Last season, Ingles started in 18 games for the Iowa soccer team. She netted 7 goals including the game-winner against Georgetown to send the Hawkeyes to their first ever NCAA Sweet 16.

“I think this group has pretty high standard for this team and just to keep it going throughout the whole program. We’re not done yet,” Ingles said following their NCAA first-round victory.
