Chattanooga police say they believe an argument led to a man being shot Wednesday near the Highland Park neighborhood.

It happened at a home in the 2300 block of Kirby Avenue, between S. Willow Street and Dodds Avenue around 12:45pm.

Police say the victim is a 19-year-old man whose injuries are not life-threatening. The man transported himself to a local hospital.

CPD’s Homicide Unit responded to lead the investigation and the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence.

According to police, preliminary information indicates a verbal dispute occurred prior to the shooting.
