Beloved N.J. bakery, closed after nearly 90 years, plans to reopen. Here’s what we know.

A legendary New Jersey bakery is now planning to reopen after the decades old business shuttered earlier this year.

McMillan’s Bakery, a revered establishment located along Haddon Avenue in Westmont, has been sold to a new owner who who plans to open again in early 2026, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer .

McMillan’s Bakery closed back in May after over 86 years in business.

Many McMillan’s lovers feared they’d never again be able to indulge in the bakery’s delicious cream doughnuts. But Tom Whitman, owner of Del Buono’s Bakery and Carmen’s Deli , recently acquired the bakery and aims to revive the decades old South Jersey institution, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
