Constantia, N.Y. — A 35-year-old man was killed Wednesday after his car went off the road and hit a tree in Oswego County, deputies said.
Around 12:07 a.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office went to a single-vehicle crash on County Route 17 between Cook Road and Roosevelt Road in the town of Constantia, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said a Volkswagen GTI was traveling north on County Route 17 when the driver lost control, causing the car to leave the west side of the road, overturn and hit a tree.
The driver, Michael Poli, of Constantia, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police, Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department and Menter Ambulance.
