TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was named a FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week for Week 5 after leading the team to a 38-35 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
Mayfield joins Josh Allen as the only quarterbacks to win the award at least once in each of the past three seasons.
The tight matchup against the Seahawks in Week 5 ended up being Mayfield's fourth fourth-quarter comeback of the season, with his performance setting records.
Mayfield completed 29 of 33 passes for 379 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions.
It marked the first regular season occurrence in NFL history where a player threw for more than 375 yards and had fewer than five incompletions.
Only Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner have accomplished that feat in a playoff game.
