A 26-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx according to the NYPD.

Police said that on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at around 6.43 p.m. police responded to a 911 call for an assault in progress at 3254 White Plains Road. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 26-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest,” a police spokesperson said. “The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police said there are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The deceased has been identified as Fareed Adeyi of Williamsbridge, The Bronx.
