The death of a woman following an assault at Lincoln hospital is being investigated as a homicide, police said Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The NYPD said that it was reported to police on Saturday, Sept. 20, that on Sept. 10, a 55-year-old female victim was at NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln when an unidentified person punched her multiple times in the head, before fleeing the location on foot to parts unknown.

“The victim was listed in critical condition and pronounced deceased on September 27th, 2025,” a police spokesperson said. “There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.”

Police said the deceased has been identified as Cynthia Vann from the Concourse section of The Bronx.
