MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) – The Monticello Railway Museum is preparing for its holiday season. The non-profit museum is expanding its Nelson Crossing carbarn.
The improved carbarn is slated to accommodate the Polar Express train and also house additional equipment.
Board of Directors member Bruce Backus said the main attraction this time of year is the annual Polar Express. The tickets for the November event sold out within 15 minutes.
Backus also said the carbarn will help with preserving the train’s paint and storage.
The Monticello Railway Museum will officially return next year in the spring.
