MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The woman who reportedly stabbed her partner and cut off his genital had a competency hearing on Wednesday to determine if she can stand trial.

A decision has not yet been made for Shenting Guo. Judge Jeremy Chaffin will make a formal determination toward the end of the month. The determination will occur after both the defense and prosecution submit their final written closing statements and any responding brief filings.

The second competency hearing was ordered following slightly conflicting results of two competency evaluations; however, both officials agreed in their reports that Guo is on the schizophrenia spectrum.
