PHOENIX (AZFamily) — We are preparing for the remnants of Priscilla this weekend, and Priscilla is just one of many recent tropical systems in the Pacific. How does this year compare to a normal hurricane season?

For the eastern Pacific, this hurricane season is already running above average, and the season is not over yet. There have been 16 named storms so far in 2025, while the 30-year average for the entire season is 15 named storms.

Out of those 16 named storms, 10 made it to hurricane status in 2025. There are eight hurricanes on average for the entire eastern Pacific hurricane season.
