A major breakthrough in the two-year conflict in Gaza appears to be taking place, with Israel and Hamas agreeing to the "first phase" of the US peace plan. ‌

As part of the agreement the release of hostages on prisoners on both sides will take place this weekend, sources told Associated Press, with the IDF beginning its withdrawal in tandem. ‌
