In a winner-take-all scenario in the premier girls soccer rivalry in northwest Ohio, Perrysburg and Anthony Wayne had to settle for another hard-fought 2-2 draw on Wednesday night.

Perrysburg (11-1-2) came into the match ranked No. 2 in the latest Division I state poll, while Anthony Wayne (12-0-3) was No. 3 in the D-II poll.

The Yellow Jackets are now in the driver’s seat for the Northern Lakes League Buckeye title with a 5-0-2 record for 17 points. Perrysburg can clinch the title with a win or tie against Northview on Monday. AW (5-0-3 for 18 points) had a shot to win the title with a win. The programs also fought to a tie (1-1) last month.

The Generals scored goals early in each half on a chilly night on the natural grass field in Whitehouse. But Perrysburg rallied back each time.
