Disgraced politician Gareth Ward is unlikely to reoffend because he has been "stripped of his power" and his sexuality has "come out", his defence team has argued.
Ward, 44, appeared via videolink at Parramatta District Court on October 9 for sentencing after being found guilty of sexually abusing two young men whom he met through his position as a politician in July.
The former Kiama MP was found guilty of sexual intercourse without consent related to a 24-year-old political staffer at Potts Point following drinks at an event at Parliament House in 2015.
He was also found guilty of three counts of indecently assaulting an 18-year-old at his home in Meroo Meadow in 2013.
