Forty interactive machines based on Leonardo da Vinci's 500-year-old designs will arrive at the Michigan Science Center on Saturday.

"Leonardo da Vinci: Machines in Motion," running through January 2026, features creations like an armored tank that fits up to eight people, based on da Vinci's actual drawings and built with the same materials he would've used. Created by three scientists at Worldwide Museum Activities in Florence and brought to North America by Evergreen Exhibitions, the collection lets visitors engage directly with da Vinci's innovative thinking.

The Italian polymath lived from 1519-1542 and is best known for his paintings, which include the "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper," and sculptures. But he's also known for a range of inventions.
