LEWISBURG — Kira Shoemaker's reverse-stick shot early in Wednesday's field hockey game acted much like a magic wand with the way it affected the outcome.

Mifflinburg's standout sophomore scored a goal with her skillful hit just four minutes into the Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I battle with Lewisburg, and that immediate lead allowed the Wildcats to lean on their stellar defense for their 12th victory in 13 games.
