The Webster has a new majority owner.

The luxury multibrand retailer has sold a majority stake to the British retail conglomerate Frasers Group, effective immediately.

Financial details were not disclosed but under the terms of the deal, founder and chief executive officer Laure Hériard Dubreuil will retain “a significant” share of the company and remain with the business to manage it through its next phase.

The Webster was founded by Hériard Dubreuil with two business partners — Frederic Dechnik, formerly of Gucci, and Milan Vukmirovic, founder of Colette — in 2008 in Miami.
