CHEYENNE — City officials are weighing whether to change Cheyenne’s tree-planting rules in new residential areas after developers said current regulations favor large shade trees that don’t always fit smaller lots.
At a meeting Monday, Public Services Committee members moved to recommend approval of a resolution directing the Cheyenne Planning and Development Department to review the Unified Development Code (UDC), and provide a recommendation to the Cheyenne City Council regarding the allowance of a greater variety of trees and smaller tree sizes to be planted in new residential areas.
