I've done just about everything I can to filter conspiracy theories out of my social media feeds, the news media I consume and general conversation. Yet, I still encounter them often in one form or another, which gives you an idea of just how pervasive this stuff is today.

The latest case in point is the shooting death of right-wing media provocateur Charlie Kirk during an outdoor event at a college campus in Utah last month. A suspect has been apprehended and charged with aggravated murder.

For some, this is too simple. Apparently, the idea that Kirk was assassinated by a lone gunman just doesn't add up.
