MAYFIELD, Ohio -- Several 911 callers reported a two-car crash in the I-271 northbound lanes around 8:15 p.m. Oct. 1.

Police and fire personnel responded and discovered the crash occupying both the express and local lanes, which had to be shut down for about 30 minutes.

One person was entrapped in a vehicle but safely removed by the fire department. The Painesville man, 65, was found to be at fault in the accident. He was cited and taken to a hospital.

An Ashtabula man was the lone occupant of the other vehicle and was not injured.

No alcohol or drugs were suspected as being a reason for the crash.
