North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick and UNC Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham released statements Wednesday night addressing Belichick’s future at UNC.

Belichick made it clear in the statement that he is not stepping down any time soon.

“I’m fully committed to UNC football and the program we’re building here,” Bill Belichick said.

Cunningham also offered his support for Belichick.

“Coach Belichick has the full support of the Department of Athletics and University," Cunningham said.

The statements came after rumors started swirling on Wednesday that North Carolina and Belichick could be working towards a buyout.

Reporter Ollie Connolly hinted that Belichick could be on the way out on Wednesday.
