Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on his first official visit to India, describing the trip as a reflection of renewed energy and strengthened bilateral partnership.
Addressing the media, PM Modi highlighted the progress in India–UK relations under Starmer’s leadership. He recalled the historic Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) concluded during his July visit to the UK, saying the deal would reduce import costs, create employment opportunities for youth, boost trade, and benefit industries and consumers in both countries.
“The timing of this visit, accompanied by the largest-ever UK business delegation to India, reflects the new energy and broad vision driving the India–UK partnership,” the PM said.
