The recent incident involving an elected official from San Luis who allegedly fled from the police, and who now faces at least one charge in court, raises the question of how long politicians in that city will continue to be involved in scandals so frequently.

I’m not going to generalize, there are capable politicians and officials with clean records in that city, but in the nearly two decades that I have covered the South Yuma County as a journalist, San Luis has been the main source of news about officials breaking the law or at least engaging in unethical situations.

Yesterday, a resident who approached me there asked me that question: When will we stop being the city with the most controversies and scandals?
