From the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, Imran Khan ordered that the lone chief minister of his party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had to go. The CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, is a political heavyweight, but lost out in his power struggle with two women in Imran Khan's life—his wife Bushra Bibi and sister Aleema Khan.

The two sisters-in-law who do not generally see eye to eye, aligned to unseat Gandapur.

Gandapur resigned as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday. Sohail Afridi, a 35-year-old with roots in the tribal heartland, is set to take over as the KP CM. He has a masters degree in economics.
